Week 9 Thing 23

The Region One 2.0 23 Things is a very helpful program. I learned about websites I have no idea what they were for. I now know how to surf the web more and have new sources to look at. My favorite parts of the program was embedding the pictures into the blog from secure sites. I also enjoyed searching and finding so many library sources for information about any subject (math prefered). I will be showing my sisters some of these sources to help them assist their students.

Week 9 Thing 22

This site is very useful to find a book with just typing in the word math and I got over 4,000 results. E-book Fair Library is just so helpful and my student will not have any problems working on thier projects because there is so many sources to assist the students.

Week 9 Thing 21

Podcasting is really a great way to interact with students and students will be excited to use their iPods for school work instead of actually just listening to music. This podcast was not made with an iPod it is not necessary that an iPod is used.

I have have been to YouTube in the past this is a great video I showed my students. The young man is very talented to use all these words and equations on his video.



Surfing YouTube can have many helpful videos.

This is really a great web site if my computer is not equipped with windows media such as word perfect or exel. Being online I am able to access this website and write documents, build spread sheets and make projects such as power point presentation.

Week 7 Thing 17

I entered two blog enteries on the Region 1 Sandbox. I accidently posted the same blog twice I was afraid to delete one of the duplicated blogs I did not want to delete both of them of I just left them on, so in reality I guess I posted 3 blogs. :D

Week 7 Thing 16

I have use the Wiki when working on a crossword puzzle as quick reference. I have later found out some of the definitions are not accurate. When I go and look for definitions on the internet Wiki is usually the first site that appears. It is a quick tool for finding out the meaning or words but there is more encylopedias online on the web.

Week 6 Thing 15

I had a hard time reading "Away from Icebergs", but I will agree with Rick Anderson when he says the idea of library collection must be updated with new materials such as online digital collections of journals, books, blogs, podcasts, etc. believe librarians need to buy a new set of encyclopedias to replace the outdated ones but should purchase a subscription to an online encyclopedia what will update as the events become current. I actually use the Internet to find information I really do not go into a library unless I need assistance for the actual librarian.

Week 6 Thing 14

Viewing Technorati was an interesting website for finding many blogs and in different topics. As soon as I get more experience blogging I will be able to claim my blogs. At this time I find it easier to blog on blogger the site looks more user friendly.

Week 4 Thing 9

I use Google Reader instead of Bloglines to locate my feeds. The three websites I use the most are Channel One, Edhelper.com and scribd.com (suduko). I found this will make things easier to get to the websites faster. I will go back there later and add more feeds to my Google Reader account.

Week 3 Thing 7

Blogging is really fun, but I really enjoy manipulating the pictures through different websites like Flickr, BIG HUGE LABS, and other websites to publish my pictures. A digital camera is more useful now than a regular 35mm, because I am able to see the pictures almost instantly instead of having to wait until I get them developed. If the pictures are not to my satisfaction I can always take another picture. I believe having a digital camera will allow me quicker access to sharing with my family and friends the pictures I have just taken. :)

This was really great making this page up from using this website. I was able to upload my project with Flickr. This is a great tool to place a picture and describe what it is about.***This picture was taken in Austin, Texas at the Chinese Tea Garden it is a relaxing environment.

I have created the blogging process TEACHING DIGITS and played around with the page layout. I added my information and will be adding more. The process is user friendly because I am computer literate.

I've never heard of Del.icio.us before. After learning about it I now know that Del.icio.us allows me to share my bookmarks with others.I have created an account with Del.icio.us and tag one of the websites I use the most.

TEACHING DIGITS

I chose Picasaweb to upload the pictures of my son and I.On this website I was able to upload an photo album instead of a single picture at a time I was able to upload all 5 pictures at the same time. This is also a great website for uploading pictures on the internet. It is convient to be able to access my pictures from anywhere I am able to use a computer.

I used ImageChef website to get my online image generator. I created an account and then typed in math on the search engine to get the image I enbedded on this blog.

Week 4 Thing 8

Today I learned about RSS Feeds ( Really Simple Syndication ) and Google Reader. I did some of the discovery exercises and after taking the tutorial I created a free online account and then added three feeds or websites that I can easily access anytime.

Week 3 Thing 5

These pictures are of my son and I. I also took a picture of a beautiful church I went to in New Orleans, LA. Using Flickr is user friendly, however I believe it was easier to upload the pictures straight off the computer. Flickr is a great website for downloading photos and I may use them anywhere I have access to a computer. Since I am working from home I have all the pictures on my computer.

Week 2 Thing 4

I registered my blog on May 9th, however I could not find it to continue on it, so I am working on this now. I just emailed Region 1 with the information that was asked of me. It was really easy to send the email with the pop-up window. (I had to resend it using my email account due to the person's computer came out on the return address.)

Week 2 Thing 3 Creating an avatar

I choose this avatar because it was very similar to the way I look. I am a math teacher and I found this avatar with a ruler in her hand.

Week 1 Intro Thing 1

The video of the life long process is very helpful since it is true that I will be learning my whole life. My student teach me different ideas they find to do their homework. My son playing and talking to his friends show me how he is able to learn and share his items and ideas as I could with my collegues.
